Couples Therapy

Reconnect With What Brought You Together

My approach to couples therapy is influenced by my training in the Gottman Method.

Sustaining long-term relationships, a goal for many, can come with its own set of obstacles. It's common for couples to seek therapy when they feel trapped in a cycle of recurring arguments. The goals of the Gottman Method include increasing closeness and friendship behaviors, addressing conflict productively, and building a life of shared meaning together. The Gottman Method involves customizing principles from the research to each couple’s particular patterns and challenges.

I’m Heather

I take great pleasure in seeing couples find joy in their relationship again through therapy and the Gottman method. I love the Gottman method because it is evidence based and doesn’t require couples to remain in therapy for several years to achieve results, The approach focuses on conflict management in the present and teaching new communication skills to strengthen friendship and rebuild a sense of shared meaning.
